When We Get It Wrong

We try to get every fact right the first time. When we don't, we fix it — and we log it here so you can see what changed.

Our correction standard

If we publish a factual claim that turns out to be wrong, we correct the article and add an entry to the log below describing what changed. We do not silently rewrite articles to hide mistakes.

For changes that aren't factual corrections — refreshed examples, updated pet policies that changed since publication, new sections added — we update the article in place and bump the "Updated" date at the top of the page, but we don't log every routine refresh here. The corrections log is for the things we got wrong, not the things that changed.

Submit a correction

Found an error? Please tell us. Email [email protected] with:

  • The article URL where the error appears
  • What specifically is wrong
  • If possible, the source for the correct information

We read every message and typically respond within a couple business days. See our full editorial policy for more on how we research and fact-check articles.
