Your Dog-Friendly Twin Cities Weekend: October 7-9, 2022

It’s apple and pumpkin season in the Twin Cities which can only mean one thing—this gorgeous weather is fleeting and we have to make the most of every autumnal minute! Lucky for you, we’ve prepared a list of dog-friendly activities for you and pup to enjoy this weekend.

1. Pumpkin Fest

Tiny Diner, Minneapolis
Friday, October 7, 4–11:30 p.m.

Kick off the weekend with some furry-friendly fall festivities on Friday night. Pupper can pick her own pumpkin from Fairhaven Farm, listen to live music, and enjoy all the fall treats and tasty drinks. There will even be face painting and a kid-friendly pumpkin painting station, so bring the whole pack! Don’t forget floof’s costumethey’ve got a dog parade with a chance to win Gigi’s Cafe dog treats.

2. Dog Haus Dog Training

Bauhaus Brew Labs, Minneapolis
Saturday, October 8, 9–11:30 a.m.; registration required

Calling all brewery pups! North Paws Canine Services is servin’ up barktastic dog training classes this month. This four-week training series kicks off on Saturday, with two different times offered. Puppers will learn brewery manners, impulse control, reliable recall, canine massage, and of course… tricks! The cost is $160, which includes a drink token at each class.

3. 5K and 10K Beer Run

Pryes Brewing Company, Minneapolis
Saturday, October 8, 11 a.m.; registration required

An untimed fun run, a free craft cider from Pryes Brewing, a collector’s pint glass or seasonal swag item, a chance to win sweet door prizes, AND access to all the event festivities? Ah, pup yeah! Your furry lil’ track star can run right alongside you or cheer you on from the dog-friendly patio.

4. Tails on the Trails

Hansen Park, New Brighton
Sunday, October 9, 1–4 p.m.

Looking for a howlin’ good time in the grrreat outdoors? Pounce north to New Brighton for some Sunday afternoon shenanigans. Take your pup for a walk on the trails of Hansen Park while you visit vendor booths, see special dog-related demonstrations, and let your leashed pup socialize with other neighborhood friends. There’ll be drool-worthy treats and food truck snacks to purchase, door prizes, “doga” (dog yoga), and more!

5. Harvest Fest and Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off

Lowell Park, Downtown Stillwater
Saturday-Sunday, October 8-9, 10 a.m.–6 p.m

Bring your furry bestie to Stillwater to kick off the fall season with a smashing good time! This midwest harvest fest features live music, pumpkin regatta, pumpkin drop, giant pumpkin weigh off, a chili cook off, vendor market, and mutts more!   • Secondhand Hounds will be at the Minneapolis Chuck and Don’s this Sunday, October 8 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. Shake paws with the adoptable foster pups and pupare to fall in ruv!
