Things to Do Near Minneapolis and St. Paul This Weekend
1. Light Up the Lake Celebration
Lake Street, Wayzata
Friday, November 25, 4:30–7 p.m.
Bring your furry bestie to the annual community tree lighting celebration in Wayzata to kick off the holiday season. We are barking about holiday refreshments, horse drawn wagon rides, reindeer, holiday music, and, of course, the magic of lighting the tree. Get cozy with some hot cider, write a letter to Santa, purchase a festive wreath, and let the smol fries enjoy the Candy Cane Hunt (kids 5 years and under only).
2. Turkey Trot Pack Walk
Copilot Dog Outfitters, Minneapolis
Saturday, November 26, 10 a.m.; registration required
‘Tis the season for earning those calories! Pounce on over to Lake Harriet to strut your stuff before pup stuffs her face in the mashed potatoes and gravy. This untimed 5K fun walk is the pawfect chance to socialize with other furry frens, hear a few training tips, and move at your own pace. Each pupper is $35/ticket, which includes a medal and treats after the walk.
3. Meat Raffle and Beer Bingo
Forgotten Star Brewing Co., Minneapolis
Sunday, November 27, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Get outta the house and head to this dog-friendly brewery for a Sunday Funday. This week’s meat raffle and bingo benefits the local Fridley Football Association, so it’s a good time for a good cause. All pup’s gotta do is show up, get a raffle ticket and bingo cards, and kick the paws up. It’s free to play!
4. Winter Gift Market
Saint Paul Brewing, St. Paul
Sunday, November 27, 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
Saint Paul Brewing knows how to chase away the Sunday Scaries. This dog-friendly, kid-friendly market is the perfect one-stop-shop for stocking stuffers and holiday gifts. Every Sunday between Thanksgiving and Christmas, there will be 8 new local vendors featuring unique goodies and finds. After pup’s done shopping, grab a tasty bevy and a drool-worthy wood-fired pizza in their dog-friendly taproom.
5. BINGO with JoJo
Insight Brewing, Minneapolis
Mondays 7–9 p.m
Don’t let the shenanigans end quite yet! Get ready to shout B-I-N-G-O every Monday at Insight Brewing. It’s free for everypuppy and there’s prizes for the winners. Puppers can belly up to the bar or grab a spot on the patio. On your way out, grab a growler to bring home for just $10/refill on Mondays.
