Things to Do Near Minneapolis and St. Paul This Weekend

1. Holiday Makers Market

Forgotten Star Brewing, Minneapolis
Saturday, December 10, 1–7 p.m. 

Pup’s gonna wanna dash into this indoor dog-friendly market featuring pawlenty of gifts to sniff and shop. Get your paws on handcrafted jewelry, vintage home wares, candles, records, vintage clothing, dog accessories, paintings, and greeting cards, all while enjoying some beer poking and a hot cocoa bar. Best part of all? Their gift-wrapping fundraiser will keep your paws free to enjoy a pint or two!

2. Holiday Photos at Chuck & Dons

Chuck & Dons, various locations
Saturday, December 10, 1–4 p.m.

Pup’s been beggin’ to be in this year’s cheesy family holiday card, so here’s her chance! Bring the whole pack to one of the local Chuck & Don’s stores for a photo opp with lots of holiday cheer. No tickets or reservations needed. There’ll be plenty of props and a festive backdrop, so just be sure to rock those matching ugly sweaters!

3. Craft and Gift Expo and Santa Photos

There’s all sorts of merry magic happening at the No Dog Left Behind headquarters this weekend. First, pup can get her shopping wrapped up at their Craft and Gift Expo on Saturday. Then on Sunday, you’ll find another opp to say cheese with Santa Claus. Come on… you can never have too many photos of your fabulous furbabe! Everypuppy will receive 5-15 quality photos within two weeks. The suggested donation is $20, which lends a paw to rescue animals. 

4. Hometown for the Holidays

Saturday, December 10

Instead of watching Hallmark movies all day, take puppers out for a stroll around a Hallmark-esque town! Start your day shopping and being serenaded by the Victorian carolers on Main Street from 11:15 a.m.–1:15 p.m. This quaint town has all the dog-friendly shops that Fido could ever dream of. After getting your paws on holiday gifts, head to nearby dog-friendly brewery River Siren, where they’ll be slinging brews and jamming out from 4–7 p.m. Don’t furget to take a peek at the city’s twinkling tree next to the river in North Lowell Park!

5. Pet Night at Southdale Center

Southdale Center, Edina
Sunday, December 11, 6–8 p.m.; reservations encouraged

Run, don’t walk, cuz there’s just a little time left for floof to get on Santa’s good list. Pull pup’s best holiday getup outta the closet this weekend because Santa’s coming to town! This evening of pictures with Mr. Claus is dedicated to furry friends, and the professional photo you’ll take home will look fabulous on Grandma’s fridge.

  • Secondhand Hounds will be at City Paws on Excelsior Blvd. this Saturday, December 10 from 1–3 p.m. Shake paws with the adoptable foster pups and pupare to fall in ruv!
