Things to Do Near Minneapolis This Weekend
1. Dog Days Westonka
Surfside Park and Beach, Mound
Saturday, August 13, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
Looking for a howlin’ good time on Saturday? Pounce over to the Dog Days Luau for a day of play! This event has been on hold for a few years but is back and rrready to hang ten with your hound. Check out the pet expo, pup paddle board demos, cutest puppy contest, pet parade, live music by The Abiders, and ice cream truck—pup yeah! It’s a great chance to meet new furry frens or soak up a slice of warm sunshine!
2. Social Summer Market
Sociable Cider Werks, Minneapolis
Sunday, August 14, 12–5 p.m.
What the pup are you waitin’ for? Get your paws over to Northeast Minneapolis to hang out at Sociable Cider’s Minneapolis Craft Market event this Sunday. They’ve put together quite the stacked pack of 50+ local makers and artisans in this huge outdoor, dog-friendly market. Don’t furget to throw back one of their drool-worthy brews too!
3. Woofstock 2022
Pub 42, New Hope
Sunday, August 14, 12–4 p.m.
Our pals at Pub 42 are at it again—bringing you a free event just for furry frens and their hoomans! There’ll be plenty to drink, live music by Mark Stary, samples, giveaways, adoptable puppers, and pet vendors (so you can shop ‘til ya drop). Pup’ll wanna get there early to ensure he’s one of the first 200 lucky dawgs to receive a free Pub 42 bandana at the door!
4. Downtown Minneapolis Street Art Festival
Nicollet and Hennepin, Minneapolis
Saturday & Sunday, August 13–14, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Downtown Minneapolis is celebrating arts in all forms and your little arf-tist is invited! This Saturday and Sunday, you and pup can enjoy this FREE street art party that’s serving up the works, from chalk and spray art to murals, performance art, crafts, and food. You can score your own screen-printed poster with La Luchadora, get a peek at the newest Prince Mural, watch a world-renowned chalk artist work his magic on a 3D chalk art installation, and enjoy the largest lineup of artists this annual fest has ever had.

1. Second Sundays Makers Market

Another day, another market! Good thing pup ruvs ‘em. Bring her out to this Sunday’s monthly Makers Market at Saint Paul Brewing where she can get her paws on handmade goods by the artisans set up on the patio while you get your hands on an ice-cold brew. Win win! Oh and don’t furget to grab a stone-fired pizza—they’re too delish to miss.
2. White Bear Lake Farmers Market
Washington Square, White Bear Lake
Friday, August 12, 8 a.m.–12 p.m.
Itchin’ to stretch those legs? Take your fur babe out for some seasonal shopping at the White Bear Farmers Market. Start the weekend early this Friday by huntin’ for fresh harvest finds with floof. In addition to traditional farm fare, wildflowers and gelato make for a colorful weekday doggy date in this northeast ‘burb. After you shop small, make a splash at White Bear’s dog-friendly beach at Matoska Park. Complete with a sandy shore and shallow water perfect for fetching, this is a great spot for a cool down on a hot day—just be sure pup stays in the dog-designated part of the beach.
