Is Fido ready for a howling night out on the town? (Don’t worry, your secret’s safe with us. We all know your pooch is definitely a certified emotional support animal and not just a way to talk to attractive strangers.) So get Fido gussied up and head over to The Watering Bowl in Denver’s Glendale neighborhood. Attractive two-legged strangers are not guaranteed, but shot skis and plenty of four-legged friends definitely are.
Humans love The Watering Bowl’s $2 Taco Tuesday and Reggae Saturday, but it’s the doggo-friendly features that really have us zooming. Think dog park meets pub. If the puppy pool, 7,000 square feet of fenced-in green turf, and TWO additional dog-friendly patios aren’t enough to get you smilin’, the endless amount of furry friends running around sure will! Also on tap for humans: ping-pong tables, a jukebox, and more TVs than you can shake a bully stick at.
And who knows—it’s possible Fido will meet his future Fifi, and the next time you come to The Watering Bowl, you’ll be celebrating their little doggy wedding. We know what you’re thinking, and, no, Fido’s wedding wouldn’t be the first celebrated there! The bar has the ability to easily turn into a private event space for doggy birthday parties, “bark” mitzvahs, and even woofer weddings (plus all the human versions of these events, too, in case Fifi’s owner is no longer just an attractive stranger). To make your pupper feel extra special, the bar will even bake and decorate dog-friendly cakes.
But mark our words (get it?), The Watering Bowl has a zero-tolerance policy on aggressive puppers so it’s important to keep an eye on your dog at all times, even in the fenced-in dog yard, just like at the dog park.
Sniff you there Monday nights from 4 to 6 p.m. for the best barkin’ Yappy Hour in town.
