October 8: We’ve drooled long enough and the wait is over, frens. It’s opening day at The Block! The Sidewalk Dog pack got the first taste of the menu and look at the space last night. The climate-controlled patio is truly rebarkable, with a dozen or so tables and dog food and water bowls at the ready (always call first to see if it’s open):
Inside, the lime green bar’s stocked but so is the freezer because boozy shakes are one of The Block’s specialties. Menu eats range from nachos and tacos to burgers to bowls, with many options that’ll please the gluten-free/vegetarian/vegan pup-ulation. I opted for the Phuket Bowl, a rice, veggie, and curry number that had the max amount of spice my Scandinavian palate will happily tolerate.
Happy hour’s 12 times a week and there are specials every night except Friday. You can also get $1 off dog entrees 3-6pm weekdays.
For dessert, doggos ruv the Craft and Crew Homemade Pup Cream, a peanut butter-and-banana wonder topped with whipped cream and a cookie. Humans can down three types of cheesecake made by Muddy Paws Bakery across the street:
And if pupper needs a day of play, Pampered Pooch Playground is two doors down. What a time to be a dog.
October 3: Yep, our dogs have leaked many a drool over Craft and Crew’s famous dog-friendly menu (which is even available fur delivery on Bite Squad), and now we’re drooling, too. Here’s a look at some of what’ll soon be gettin’ in our bellies:
September 27: Peeps, the hooman menu has been revealed and from pulled pork sliders to Herbivorous Butcher vegan Korean BBQ tacos to frozen custard shakes, it’s doggone drool-inducing.
September 9: Craft and Crew, the beloved resto group that’s brought us Stanley’s Northeast Bar Room, The Howe Daily Kitchen & Bar, and Pub 819, is adding a fourth dog-friendly restaurant to its roster next month. The Block will open in mid-October at 7007 Walker Street in St. Louis Park and we’re already wagging our tails.
There’ll be a year-round enclosed, heated, dog-friendly patio with yoga mats for relaxos, a fireplace (pawsh), puppy restrooms right outside on the grassy area, and an is-this-real-life feature: HEATED FLOORS. Patio doggos never had it so good. Don’t judge us if you find us down there chillin’ with your frens.
On the dog menu: All the dog menu offerings pups know and ruv at Craft and Crew’s other restaurants – from K-9 Chicken to homemade Pup Cream for dessert – with a free peanut butter nilla woofer for every pooch who walks through the door. Craft and Crew was first on the Twin Cities dog menu scene, which has pleased more than 25,000 pups! Dogs will eat free on Tuesdays from 5-10 p.m. when you order an entree, too. Even more good feels: ordering off the dog menu raises bones for Pause 4 Paws, which supports local rescues in their lifesaving work. Wanna stay in? You can order off the same doggo menu via Bite Squad.
On the human menu: hot broasted chicken, elevated bar food, sandwiches and burgers, rice bowls, vegan items, frozen custard shakes, and other scarfable lunch and dinner noms. Check out the Celebration shake:
Just a few more weeks and the whole operation’ll be pup ‘n running. Here’s a Sept. 3 look at the patio:
The bar is coming along, too:
Sound like a dream? They’re hiring, too.
Stay tuned: We’ll share other deets just as soon as we can get our paws on ‘em!
