Beautiful little girl in a green jacket. Child in a summer park with a dog

Your Irish Wolfhound is ready to shamrock and roll this St. Patrick’s Day, and lucky for you both, she won’t have to stay home! Pup can join you for the parade, the 5K, and more this St Paddy’s Day. Get out your green and run, strut, and sniff out these St. Patrick’s Day Seattle events.

Note: Remember to keep pup on leash at public events and pick up any piles of gold.

St. Patrick’s Landing and Laying O’ the Green Stripe

Begin your St. Paddy’s Day celebrations by puppin’ down to South Lake Union (near MOHAI) at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 12th for the recreation of St. Patrick’s landing on the Emerald Isle in 400 A.D. Then check out the Laying O’ The Green Stripe at 4th Ave and Jefferson St to mark Sunday’s parade route. Your lil’ history ruff will get caught up in the ceremony, the tradition, and thinkin’ how grrreat St. Pat looks for bein’ 1600 years old.

St. Patrick’s Day Dash

Ready, set, go pup go! Grab your lil’ leprechaun and make room for more corned beef by pawticipating in the St. Patrick’s Day Dash 5K on Sunday, March 13th. With dash, jogging, and walking waves to choose from, smol floofs and senior pups can all have a chance at the finish line. And don’t furget your green—no pooch pinching here! Sniff out more event details and registration info here

Note: Dogs are not allowed in the Guinness Beer Garden. If you can’t make it into the city this St. Paddy’s Day, you and pupper can participate virtually from anywhere.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Fido can’t decide if she wants to watch or walk in Seattle’s 50th Anniversary St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, March 13th. Either way, we can’t get cl-over how cute she is in green! She’s looking furward to howlin’ along with the bagpipes and saying henlo to the Irish Setter Club of Seattle. Register your canine club (for free!) to prance in the parade or nab a spot to sit and stay along 4th Ave. Parade starts at 1 p.m.

Shamrock Stroll

Your pup is full of Irish pride and wants others to be green with envy, so let buddy strut his stuff on the 1.5-mile Shamrock Stroll at Sammamish State Park. From March 16–28, follow shamrock signs around the park to learn about Irish Legends, Leprechauns, Irish words, and more. While you brush up on your learnin’, pup’ll be diggin’ for a pot of gold. Think of how many treatos it could buy!

Note: The stroll is free to participate in, but a single-day or annual Washington State Discover Pass is required to park in all Washington state parks.

St. Paddy’s Day Trivia at Dog Yard

To puppare for St. Paddy’s Day Trivia Night at Yard Dog on March 17th, your BFF is gonna stay up late studyin’ the basics: corned beef, soda bread, and shepherd’s pie. You just need to gather four 21+ frens (or they’ll match ya with a group) and do your best not to embarrass pup while he hangs with the other lucky charms. Legend has it the more bellies you rub, the more luck you’ll have!

Note: Check out Dog Yard’s requirements before you go.
