Seattle: 3 Things to Do With Your Dog This Weekend

This weekend’s gonna be corgi-ous.

Seattle’s weather this week has been bright, sunny, and coooold, but the wet’s coming back around this weekend. We’re no Cruella, though, my little dalmatian pups. We wouldn’t yuck your yum for no reason! Here are some indoor activities to dodge the raindrops and cuddle up with your bestie.

Corgi Crew Meet-Up (10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19) Short legs, cute butts, can’t lose! This has gotta be the official Corgi motto. But come find out for yourself at this Dogwood Play Park meet-up for the smiliest breed in the dog kingdom. It’s $10 drop-in for guests and free for members, with $7 mimosas. Pro tip: Save yourselves some time and send vaccination records beforehand if it’s your first time at the play park.

Drink a Draft with a Rescue Dog (3:30 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19) Drink a draft, take a walk, cuddle up – gee what a pawsome afternoon the folks at Dog Gone Seattle have planned! If you’re looking for a new drinking buddy, or just need some dog therapy (a very real thing), swing by 192 Brewing.

Dog-Friendly Karaoke Night at Norm’s (9 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19) Even though howling at the moon is truly a dog’s forte, us humans can try it every once in a while too, right? Come by Norm’s in Fremont for Karaoke Night, and bring your dog. Will the dogs bark when someone requests ‘Who Let The Dogs Out?’ Maybe. Will they judge you for singing off-key? Probably. If you have a Husky, should you put them on the mic? HECK YES! Either way, it’s guaranteed to be a great time, fur real.

Plus, a resource for ruff times:

Pet Loss Support Group (11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19) It’s our worst nightmare. We don’t want to think about it – ever. But it happens, and sometimes the loss feels unbearable. If you have a paw-shaped hole in your heart, all the Sidewalk Doggers (and their actual doggers) are sending you SO much love. If you need a little extra TLC, swing by the Pet Loss Support Group. It’s hosted by the Seattle Humane Society twice a month and free of charge.

What else is on your agendog this weekend? Doo tell! (And don’t forget to submit all of your pup-centric events to our calendar.) Happy adventuring, Sidewalk Doggers!
