Things to Do Near Minneapolis This Weekend

1. Drink for Dogs

Unleashed Hounds and Hops, Minneapolis
Thursday,  September 1, 4–8 p.m.

Bring your pupsqueak out on the town to eat and drink for all things good! Unleashed Hounds and Hops is donating 10% of all grub and bevy sales to Underdog Rescue. Come to support a dog rescue, stay for all the fun—pup’s gonna ruv this indoor dog park. Pre-register your dog before the event and guarantee your spot for the evening by making a reservation on their website.

2. Bags, Brews, + Pups

Adrenaline Sports Center, Ramsey
Thursday, September 1, 5:30–9:30 p.m. registration required

Kick off the weekend early with a lil competition. This furry-friendly double-elimination bags tourney offers both a competitive and recreational division. You’ll be playing for a cause—$10 from each team registration fee and $1 from each craft beer purchase goes towards the Minnesota Pitbull Rescue. Pup’s welcome to come along and cheer you on too! There’ll even be adoptable pups from MN Pitbull Rescue from 5:30-7:30.

3. ‘Splore and Stroll in Minneapolis

Take your fur babe out for an afternoon of sunshine and good times this weekend. Kick it off by visiting the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden at the Walker Art Center. Pupper can take in the views and iconic art throughout the 11 acres (leashed of course). Afterwards get your paws on a cold brew from nearby Sisyphus Brewing, where pups are welcome inside and out. Still got a bit of puppy energy? Pounce on over to the Loring Park Recreation Area, which features small boulders, gravel, and grass for unleashed fun!

Things to Do Near St. Paul This Weekend

1. Summer Sessions

Keg and Case, St. Paul
Friday, September 2, 7–9 p.m.

Keg and Case has been jamming all summer with local musicians and this weekend is no exception. Between the lively dog-friendly patio, cozy outdoor seating, brews served by Clutch Brewing Co., and their bustlin’ makers market, pup’ll be beggin’ to come back. Covalent Blond will be jamming out for this weekend’s Summer Session. It’s a free event open to pups and peeps of all ages, and a great way to enjoy pawtio season!

2. Drive Cartel

Saint Paul Brewing, St. Paul
Saturday, September 3, 6–10 p.m.

Beep beep! Drive Cartel, Saint Paul Brewing’s monthly summer Cars and Craft show, is back. Located in the main lot in front of the brewery, 60+ cars will be on display for drooling over, along with food trucks for chowing down, plenty of brews for drinking, and a live DJ and light show for bustin’ a move. Get your paws on freshly-crafted pizzas and their collaboration beer, Speak of the Devil, a Watermelon Cucumber Ale made just for Drive Cartel.

3. St. Paul Saints Dog Days

Kick back with some peanuts and Cracker Jacks this Saturday for Dog Day at CHS field! Grab your pack of furry frens to root, root, root for the home team. Pups and their hoomans can sit and stroll anywhere in the dog park, just make sure to keep floof on a leash (our Patio Leash™ is the pawfect length).

  • Underdog Rescue will be at Bentley’s Pet Stuff in Excelsior this Saturday, September 3 from 12:30–2 p.m. Since it’s a holiday weekend, you’ll have an extra day to bond if you go home with a new bestie!

New Leash Rescue

  • New Leash Rescue will be at PetSmart in Woodbury this Saturday, September 3 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Shake paws with foster pups looking for homes and see if you make a ruv connection!
