These Twin Cities Garden Stores Welcome Plant-Loving Pups

Garden stores are a gift to both dogs and humankind. There are the earthy, floral aromas, the tasteful outdoor decor, and all of the supplies a gardener could possibly need. And now there will be the pitter-patter of canine paws, too, because you get to bring your furry friend! To make things even better, we’ve “dug up” the most dog-friendly garden stores in the Twin Cities for your planting, decorating, and (of course) sniffing pleasure.

Before we get started, there are a few things to remember: your pup should be on his or her very best behavior and on a leash at all times. And you should remain attentive to your pup, as some plants, like tulips, azaleas, and lilies, are toxic to doggos. (ASPCA has a full list of dog-toxic plants.) Head to our shops directory for more deets and even more dog-friendly shops! Alright, on to the good stuff:

Hi Amy! I just double-checked, and they are indeed dog-friendly (as long as your pup gets along with the two resident cats). Thanks for the tip!

Sailers greenhouse in Shakopee has resident dogs that greet customers! Same with their Eden prairie location, Marshall’s Gardens.

I work at Malmborgs in Blaine and we love when people being their dogs in. We’d rather have them shopping with you then stuck in the hot car.

Pahl’s Market in Apple Valley is dog friendly as long as there are no big events that day (event days are listed on their website).

Hedberg Garden Center and Supply located on Hwy 36 just west of Stillwater loves it when you bring your dog along for a visit.
