The Best Dog Menus in the U.S.

Obvi your golden furchild loves to bless dog-friendly patios the world over with her presence, but that doesn’t mean she’s not sitting there wondering why hoomans get all the noms. What gibs? Good thing there are spots out there that support your dog’s desire for her own refined culinary experience. For her, nothing beats a menu designed exclusively with her exquisite palate in mind (which is a v fancy way of saying she just wants some T-R-E-A-T-S doggone it).

From muttloaf to pup-approved pizza, ice cream, and more, we sniffed out the best dog menus at restaurants across the country who are servin’ up noms for the good boys and girls. (Road trip, anyone?)

Minneapolis/St. Paul

Starting in the Twin Cities (Sidewalk Dog HQ!), there’s a host of stops that’ll have Spot licking his chops. Consider the three-course Canine Cuisine menu, featured at several pawesome local restaurants, all of which are open for dine-in or (heated) dog-friendly pawtio service: Stanley’s Northeast Bar Room in NE Minneapolis, Pub 819 in Hopkins, The Howe Daily Kitchen & Bar in South Minneapolis, and The Block SLP in St. Louis Park. Their menu features beef marrow bone or smoked pig’s ear appetizers from Von Hanson’s, a choice of entree, and a non-dairy banana + peanut butter pupcream sundae just fur the floofs. Wipe up your drool, girl!

At all four spots, pups get treated to a scratch-made Nilla Woofer on the house. And of course, fresh bowls of water and comfy yoga mats are always available. Not pup to leavin’ the dog house? Order online and get everything delivered!

Chicago

Chi-doggos’ll be glad to know that patios are open and they can once again get the royal treatment at Siena TavernBar Siena, and Barrio. Their puppy menus include dog-friendly entrees such as chicken breast, a burger patty, and skirt steak, plus a dairy-free Woof-Cream dessert (and more). All entrees are grilled with extra virgin olive oil and have no added seasoning. Best of all, a portion of all pup menu proceeds is donated to PAWS Chicago.

Denver

Grrreat news for kibble connoisseurs, there are plenty of tasty options for both hooman and hound in the Mile High city. Grab a bite on the patio at Ugly Dog Sports Cafe (but cover pup’s ears cuz we’re afraid he might not get the joke), chow down and run around inside or out at Pub Dog (it’s both a restaurant and a dog park, so, basically heaven), or pick up a Pawbender from Good Times. What’s a Pawbender you ask? Oh just your floof’s fave new treat. Part frozen custard, part peanut butter, part dog treat—get ready for buddy to be beggin’ for one nonstop!

Just outside of Denver, Lazy Dog Restaurant’s two locations in Aurora and Westminster offer heated patios and dog menus featuring brown rice, pup-friendly burger patties, and grilled chicken.

Seattle

Purple Cafe & Wine Bar has a Purple Patio Pup menu featuring scrumptious noms like a Pupcup (frozen banana slices, peanut butter, whipped cream), grilled chicken, and a Bag O’ Bones.

Norm’s Eatery & Alehouse features both entrees and treats, so doggo can have herself multiple courses. Just a heads up, she’s prob gonna want the Bacon Pupcake for dessert.

Portland

We heard your dog is fancy. Java Hound Coffee has a puppuccino made from goat milk and topped with treats. Super dog-friendly Tin Shed Garden Cafe (open for take-out and open-air dining) boasts menu items like a chicken thigh and sweet potato bowl and doggy dessert (banana, peanut butter, and yogurt).

Salt and Straw Ice Cream is dog-friendly and offers hand packed pints to take home. Doggos and their humans alike love Salt and Straw’s artisanal flavors, many of which are non-dairy.

California

If you find yourself in sunny San Diego, we wholeheartedly recommend a stop at Pacific Beach mainstay Backyard Kitchen & Tap for some simple pup-friendly eats like a burger patty with yellow rice or a selection of house-made dog biscuits. This spot often throws dog-themed events and adoption parties, too, so buying your meal would be supporting an especially pup-loving joint.

Atlanta

If you want your pup to experience the full Saturday brunch experience, Bistro Niko in Atlanta (open for reservations) has a full dog menu complete with complementary beverages. Have your fur baby try a Dirty Dog Martini (chicken stock + water), then move on to a delicious entree like beef short rib stew or sliced chicken. If you’re feeling extra-fancy, you can also treat your pup to real filet mignon.

There you have it, friends: A road map for dog-friendly eats around the US. Know of another spot with a dog menu? We’re all ears–let us know in the comments! And be sure to tag pics of your pups at their fave dog-friendly spots with #SidewalkDog on Instagram fur a chance to be featured.
