Pining for outdoor winter fun with your dog? How ’bout a romp through a dog-friendly Christmas tree farm? We rounded up heavenly-scented picks for you and pupper to explore to your hearts’ (and paws’) content.
And as every good dog knows, keep your BFF leashed and make sure pup pees elsewhere first (so as not to yellow the fine greenery).

Countryside Christmas Tree Farm, Lake Elmo (map)
Get a pre-cut or cut-your-own tree at Countryside Christmas Tree Farm. Call ahead as U-cut trees are limited this year. Fields close at dusk, but pup’s all about that golden hour anyway—it’s best for his ‘Gram. Cash, check, or venmo accepted.
Hansen Tree Farm, Ramsey (map)

Leverty’s Traditional Trees, Houlton, WI (map)
In addition to providing adorable photo ops, Leverty’s is a full-service farm. You’ll get more than just a saw to use—they also offer tree-shaking, center-drilling, tree-wrapping, and vehicle-loading assistance. What more could a pup need?

From their website: “Don’t be surprised if we want to take a photo of your pup. We love the way people dress their dogs up for Christmas cheer/cold weather!” Now these are our people.
Rum River Tree Farm & Nursery, Oak Grove (map)

St. Croix Valley Trees, Somerset, WI (map)
Take in the sights, tastes, sounds, and most importantly for puppers—the smells of Christmas at St. Croix Valley Trees. Go early in the season to avoid crowds (they open Nov. 19), but if you end up waiting just know they’re holding one field to open Dec. 11 to ensure there are good trees for those who drag their paws.
Wolcyn Tree Farms, Cambridge (map)
Did somebody say T-R-E-A-T-S? Wolcyn Tree Farms is servin’ up free hot apple cider, coffee, and cookies to go along with your tree cutting experience. So maybe the treats aren’t exactly dog-focused, but the farm loves pups, just bring snacks for Fido so he doesn’t get jealous!
