Dog-Friendly Places with WiFi in Chicago

Your pup’s prayers were answered when working from home became a thing. Even now, many jobs and businesses are being more flexible about where you can work from. But after all this time, maybe you’re tired of the same views around your studio apartment (or maybe “working remote” has somehow turned into “get the remote to watch more Grey’s Anatomy”). Take advantage of the flexibility by exploring the city and turning these dog-friendly places with WiFi in Chicago into your new office for the day!

1. WeWork

WeWork is known for their coworking spaces, but did you know that some also allow your favorite four-legged coworker? With locations all over the city, plenty of Chicago’s WeWork buildings allow dogs and have amenities you need to call them HQ for the day, like telephone booths for your meetings, strong WiFi, and a fully stocked kitchen for snackies and coffee. Check online for each location’s dog policy and day-pass pricing!

2. Drink Happy Thoughts

Uptown’s Drink Happy Thoughts is a sentiment both humans and dogs can get behind, and this spot is the perfect place to do so. With a robust coffee menu made from Happy Monday Coffee Roasters beans and delicious treats (all vegetarian or vegan!), this is the perfect place for you and your co-woofer to power through that quarterly report that was due two quarters ago. Plus, they even sell branded pup bandanas from local business Chicago Dog Co. so your doggo can rep his favorite office away from home.

3. Elevate Coffee

It may be in good Boystown, but everypawdy is welcome! Elevate Coffee has all the coffee and food you’ll need, and you’re even able to reserve a table for 2 hours—because nothing derails a good working session like not being able to find a seat. Reservations are $10 and can be used towards your purchases during your stay.

4. Midwest Coast Brewing Company

Happy Hour can start a little early with a working afternoon at Midwest Coast Brewing Company. With a dog-friendly taproom and plenty of WiFi to go around, this is the perfect spot to meet coworkers to go from work to play. The taproom may not be the quietest for a call, but a delicious pint of beer may help turn the hustle and bustle into the perfect white noise for working.

5. Working From_Fulton Market

Located inside The Hoxton Hotel, this coworking space is a little treat yourself experience. A day pass is $30 and includes AYCD tea and coffee from the help-yourself pantries on each floor, along with other office resources like free printing. Working From_ also offers other options, like an evening pass for the night owl who does their best work after 5:30pm and a monthly member rate, too.

6. Half Acre

Start with a coffee, end with a beer. Working on Half Acre’s Balmoral brewery patio is the secret to a tail-waggin’ good day. Post up with your pup under an umbrella and energize your morning with a coffee from Dark Matter, then after your Zooms (and zoomies in the parking lot), unwind with a little Scooby Brew!

7. Proyecto piloto

Are work hangovers a thing? Treat it with the hair of the dog at Pilot Project. Head over to this Milwaukee Avenue spot and finish out your workday on the patio for an afternoon of snouts and stouts. The beer incubator showcases some great up-and-coming brewers, and the food menu is nothing to turn your tail at.

8. Milk and Honey Cafe

Has being cooped up at home left you a little melan-Collie? Perk up with some new scenery at Milk and Honey Cafe. Bark yourself on their large patio and, when you need to stretch your legs, mark your calendar as “busy” for a quick walk over to the Wicker Park Dog-Friendly Area half a mile away.
