5 Dog-Friendly Airbnbs in Chicago

It’s been nearly 10 months since Chicago’s first shelter-in-place order, and pup’s getting a little tired of sniffin’ the same fire hydrants by your home. A vacation may be out of the question right now, but why not take Fido explorin’ one of Chicago’s 178 neighborhoods? Check out one of these dog-friendly Airbnbs in Chicago that’ll have him singing, “Staycation, all I ever wanted!”

Thanks to the COVID party people (more like party poopers), Chicago currently has a restriction on 1-day rentals, but you can still rent for 2+ days. All rentals were verified as dog-friendly at the time of writing, but don’t forget to let your hosts know about potential four-legged guests!

1. Albany Park Bungalow Getaway

Traveling isn’t ideal right now, but that doesn’t mean cultural exploration is off the table. Albany Park is part of the 60625 ZIP code, which has been called one of the most diverse areas in the country. This staycation is all about trying new things–taste new cuisines with takeout from tortas restaurant, Torteria San Lenchito, or the famous chicken wings from Chinese restaurant, Great Seas. For the pup, this bungalow is a quick walk to the North Branch Trail at LaBagh Woods, but what may be the most novel is the back deck and fully fenced-in backyard for a private romp.

2.  Lincoln Park Archway Apartment

Airbnb

Built in a former 1920s hotel, pup’ll drool over the crown molding and Art Deco roots in the gorgeous archways. Lincoln Park offers plenty to do with your pup, and with a location right across the street from the park itself, she’ll never forgive you if you don’t take play furtographer and do a photoshoot along the lake. This apartment has a private entrance with no steps, so it’ll be perfect for any senior dogs who think that stairs are a puppy’s game.

3. Three Cheers for Beer in Lincoln Square

The beer is here, and by here, we mean Lincoln Square. This well kept condo is walking distance to several dog-friendly breweries such as Empirical Brewery, Dovetail Brewery, and Begyle Brewery. Take a stroll around this picturesque neighborhood to pick up some local brews to-go, then pie from the walk-up window at Hoosier Mama.

4. Su Casa at Kasa Chicago

Airbnb

Living downtown is definitely not for everyone; the noise, traffic, and non-stop bustle can be ruff for even the most urban of pups. But you can’t deny that Chicago has a great skyline, and Kasa Chicago has the views. Take advantage of a staycation to (temporarily) immerse yourself into quintessential Chicago and become a tourist in your own city. This South Loop Airbnb is close to the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, and Grant Park. But don’t think we forgot about the VIP, very important pupper. The building has a private, community dog run that’s open 24/7 so you can tire your fluffer out before going on your great big Chicago adventure.

5. Sanctuary in Logan Square

Airbnb

Heralded by BuzzFeed as Chicago’s most popular Airbnb in 2017, this Airbnb with eclectic mid-century modern decor is definitely worth barking home about. But the best part is the urban sanctuary in the back with a private garden space. You’ll have to crack out the best treatos to bribe Fido to come back in. We don’t know why you’d want to leave the apartment, but it’s also an easy walk to the Logan Square Dog Park and the best food spots in the neighborhood.
