3 Things to Do With Your Dog This Weekend in Chicago

Our collective weekend face.

If you’re feeling Janu-weary, cuddling up by the fire with a mug of hot kibble may be all you wanna do this weekend. But if cabin fever starts to set in, hightail it to one of these dog-friendly events:

Fetching Tails Foundation’s Wine Tasting (7 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19) Does your dog have a well-trained palate? If neither of you can tell the difference between Malbark and Shar-Pei-donnay, don’t worry! Head to this tasting of Noble Grape wines benefiting the Fetching Tails Foundation to get a paws-on education.

Pretend You’re in Portlandia at Women & Children First Bookstore (10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays) If you’re a fan of the sketch show Portlandia, you already recognize this bookstore’s name and the iconic characters we’re referencing. But even if you’re like, “I don’t know what these words are,” a stroll through the stacks with your dog will be a great way to spend the afternoon in a shop that promotes the writing of women and marginalized voices.

Have All the Bevs at Purple Llama (7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily) Alright, who started this rumor that you can only have one beverage at a time? The Purple Llama will make you and your dog beg to differ. Pour over coffee. Oat milk latte. Herbal tea. Kombucha. On. TAP. The even tastier news is that you can sip while browsing the killer record collection in the back. Stay thirsty, Chicago.

What other pawesome events are on your agendog this weekend? Tell us in the comments, and don’t forget to submit all of your pup-centric events to our calendar. Happy adventuring!
