Have we got a treat for you, SWDers: The new, small-format Target in Uptown welcomes you AND your floppy-eared friend!
Target opened up their third small-format store in Minnesota in mid-October, and we’re puppin’ pumped that it’s dog-friendly. The scaled-down store is conveniently located in the ground floor retail space of the Revel apartment complex and focuses on products like apparel, accessories, home goods specifically targeted to meet the needs of apartment and condo residents, beauty and personal care products, groceries, and baby items.
Naturally, they also have a curated selection of dog toys and food. “Our whole Target team just loves it when pups come in,” store manager Kyle Kohns told Sidewalk Dog when we stopped in recently. “The friendly dogs who visit improve the atmosphere and morale for staff and shoppers alike.” While we perused the store, our canine companions were offered treats and pats from at least three different Target team members. Wins all around.
To put the whipped cream on top, there is also an in-store Starbucks where you can enjoy a latte with your Lab. We’re also told that your pup can get their paws on one of Starbucks’ world-famous puppuchinos (don’t worry, it’s just a small cup of whipped cream).
We wish all of this retailer’s stores could be dog-friendly (we love Target as much as the next doggo), but currently, only a pawful of their small-format stores welcome pups. Don’t fret: Head to our directory for a pupload of other shops that allow your BFF to join you indoors.
