Dog-Friendly Taco Spots in the Twin Cities

If you don’t love dogs and tacos, then we’re nacho type. In our pack, every day is Taco Tuesday, and every day is a bajillion times better with our pups by our sides. You down with D-O-G? If you shouted “Yeah you know me,” you and your perros can sit with us at these eight delicioso taco spots in the Twin Cities.

Centro at Popol Vuh
The casual side of a two-fur-one restaurant, Centro has almost-too-pretty-to-eat tacos, drool-worthy sides, and a delightful cocktail menu. With $5 margs during happy hour and a tempting agave flight, it’s a good thing your four-legged fren knows the way home.

Lago Tacos
Two words: fried avocado. Wolf it down as an app, wrapped in tacos, or get the Ultimate Bloody Mary garnished with fried avocado, stuffed jalapeno, red pepper, shrimp, and a mother puppin’ taquito. Taco ‘bout a great brunch with your furry boo!

Sidewalk Dogger Nicky Mastain says Lago Tacos Lyn-Lake is pommy approved.

El Burrito Minneapolis
St. Paul’s El Burrito Mercado has been a Twin Cities staple for 40 years, so it’s no surprise its Minneapolis branch is something to yap about, too. Share some empanadas with your pupperino on a romantic patio date, where you might get serenaded by a local mariachi band.

Nico’s Taco and Tequila Bar
It’s all about fresh ingredients at Nico’s on Como in Saint Anthony Bark. With scratch-made burritos, enchiladas, flautas, tostadas, pozole, and more on the menu, your pooch will probably order too much and have to ask for a doggy bag, as usual.

Andale Taqueria & Mercado
You know what your dog always says–if it’s good enough for Guy Fieri, it’s good enough for him. Nom on authentic street-style eats, then go next door to the mercado your pup has been meaning to check out.

Rusty Taco
When your forever-hungry mutt has a hankering for breakfast tacos, trot to a spot where they’re served all day: Rusty Taco in Maple Grove. After your fiesta, wag on over to the off-leash dog park at Fish Lake Regional Park to run off all that queso.

El Jefe Cocina & Bar
El Jefe’s atmosphere, amazing food, and outstanding service deserve a round of appaws. This is a family-owned spot where you can really taste the ruv in every dish – if your pup allows you to have a bite.

Mercado
We saved the best fur last! Not only are woofers allowed on the patio at Mercado, this little piece of taco heaven throws doggo-centric events, fundraisers, puppy birthday parties, and a monthly Yappy Hour. See also: dog beds, water bowls, and free organic treats. We might just move into the attached Lime Apartments.
