We’re shining a spotlight on paw-approved spots in the burbs, one metro area at a time. Where are some of the best spots in the dog-friendly South Metro to dine, play, and shop with your pooch? Let’s get right to it!

Eats
There are so many good places in the South Metro to grab a bite with Fido! If you’re in the mood for some lakeside dining, sniff out Charlie’s on Prior in Prior Lake. For some Irish fare, try O’Brien’s Public House in Shakopee. How about the Lone Oak Grill or New Bohemia Wurst & BierHaus in Eagan? Num! Plus the uber pup-loving Bourbon Butcher in Farmington, and many more.
Drinks
Like to drink with your dog? Of course you do – so leash up your pup and stop in to one of the pawesome brewery patios just south of the cities, like Lakeville’s Angry Inch Brewing and Lakeville Brewing (including grassy seating!), Northfield’s Imminent Brewing and Tanzenwald Brewing, and Eagan’s Union 32 Craft House and Bald Man Brewing (Sunday afternoon bingo with Bingo here!).
More of a boozehound or wino? Loon Liquor Co. in Northfield welcomes well-behaved doggos in their cocktail room in addition to their patio, and Alexis Bailly Vineyard in Hastings invites you to sip wine with your four-legged BFF.
Treats
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, grab a treat on the patio of Cupcake in Eagan. You and Rover deserve it!
Parks
The South Metro has four pup-ular large dog parks for Fido to stretch his legs, sniff everything in sight, and meeting new fur-iends. Each has special amenities, so read the summaries and comments in our directory to get a better sense for which would best suit your pup.
Orchards
Enjoy beautiful apple-picking season with your best bud in tow. AppleWood Orchard in Lakeville, Whistling Well Farm in Hastings, and Sponsel’s Minnesota Harvest Apple Orchard in Jordan all welcome doggos – making for a pawfect fall day for the whole family!
Shops
If your pupper helps you in the garden, bring ‘em by Bachman’s in Apple Valley and Cal’s Market & Garden Center in Savage for a fun outing (and find more dog-friendly garden stores here).
And fur-loving boutiques like Poppy Smooches and Eyeology in Eagan, and Grit & Grace in Faribault would ruv to say hello to your BFF.
