Lap Up Drinks at These Dog-Friendly Ice Bars

Here in Minnesota, it’s no secret that we love three things: dogs, drinking, and the cold. This year, our state’s considerable winter spirit is smiling upon us: we dug up some pup-loving ice bars that welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes!

Before we get started, a quick doggy disclaimer: even if you don’t mind the cold, Fido might not be such a fan. Be sure to bring your pup only if he or she’s the hardy sort, and be sure to watch for signs of discomfort. If your pup doesn’t love the frosty air, consider checking out a heated tent (like those of Stanley’s or The Howe) or a dog-friendly taproom!

And check the dates and hours carefully below, since most of these spots are only open for Super Bowl weekend.

Birch’s On The Lake

This lakefront ice bar features a pup-load of fun, snowy activities ranging from ice skating to drink-sipping around fire pits. Note: be sure to go around the restaurant to the left of the main entrance to reach the deck; pups aren’t allowed inside!

Mercy’s icy festivities include pine trees, fire pits, ice sculptures, and more! Delicious, frosty bevs are available.
