A city well-loved for its beach-town attitude, Edmonds is also bursting with spunk. It was named the state’s first Certified Creative District, and a walk through its neat downtown proves just how woofin’ awesome the city is. From galleries to public trails, boutiques to bakeries, Edmonds is like a long belly rub for your entire fur family. We’ve narrowed down some Edmonds dog-friendly spots that get two paws up.

Red Twig Bakery

Artisanal coffee, pastries baked fresh daily, a generous brunch menu served until 1 p.m.–there’s nothing doggone wrong with this place–and the fact that pooches can sit on the patio with you is the peanut butter icing on top. Red Twig Bakery is a favorite among locals due to the rotating seasonal bakery menu and the availability of organic, vegan, and gluten-free options to boop.

Girardi’s Osteria

Ciao bella! Or, should Fido be reading this, chow smella. If you have a hankering for Italian, then Girardi’s Osteria is your next stop for some well-loved favorites like goat cheese bruschetta, pumpkin ravioli, and gnocchi pesto. The Edmonds establishment has been around for 20+ years, and their patio welcomes all four-legged customers. Pop by for lunch, dinner, or yappy hour to fill those rumbling stomachs and enjoy the scent of the nearby Puget Sound.

Walnut Street Coffee

Wipe that marinara sauce from your mouth and free up some room in your tummy because next door to Girardi’s Osteria is a quaint, charming coffee shop waiting to welcome your pup. Filled with scones, muffins, donuts, and other pastries from the best local vendors, Walnut Street Coffee has a patio perfect for enjoying a beautiful day and puppy-eyeing everyone for just one bite. Salish Sea Brewing Company

As the pawveyors of “delicious hand-crafted ales,” the folks at Salish Sea Brewing Company know what they’re doing. Their large and accommodating patio is dog (and baby human) friendly, the perfect spot to knock one back with your fave four-legged drinking buddy. There’s a large menu of food, too, and the happy hour is definitely something worth sniffing out. And there are plenty of nice cool bowls of H2O for any thirsty pupper who stops by.

Brigid’s Bottleshop

Hot dog, have we got the most pawsome spot to round out your day in Edmonds! Brigid’s Bottleshop is a specialty beer retailer with 24 taps and 18 rotating beers, as well as a rotating mix of cider, wine, and non-alcoholic options. The outdoor deck is drool-worthy, and well-behaved doggos on leashes are welcome inside and out! And it’s situated right on the Edmonds waterfront with the perfect views to unwind (hey, dog life is stressful!).

Waterfront Coffee Company

Don’t miss the opportunity to become a regular at this next stop. Waterfront Coffee Company specializes in Italian-style coffee and Italian sodas that will give you the boost you need to keep up with fren. They make a Great Dane-sized assortment of baked goods and made-to-order beverages, but most importantly, homemade doggy treats and pup cups! Excited tail wags are anticipated.

The Dining Dog Cafe & Bakery

Your pup is royalty–you know it, we know it, and she definitely knows it. Treat her like the queen she is with a reservation to The Dining Dog Cafe & Bakery. This full service doggy restaurant will make you wish you were a pup too. They serve mocktails, appetizers, entrees, and desserts to your pup in style. What could possibly be better than a whole birthday cake? Not sharing a single bite.

Pupper has an eye for color combinations, so why would you crush his creative ingenuity? Take advantage of having your own personal stylist by visiting Rogue, a boutique women’s clothing store that offers the quality that can only be found with shopping local. Well-behaved, leashed doggos are welcome to pawruse the racks, with the consent of other patrons of course. With prices that are lickin’ affordable, Rogue is your one-pup-shop for an entire outfit that is dog-approved.

Pelindaba Lavender

Stop and smell the…lavender? Pelindaba Lavender is a boop-tique selling handcrafted items made from, you guessed it, lavender. Culinary oils and herbs, cleaning liquids, candles, and floral jewelry are just a few things you can expect to find in their downtown Edmonds storefront. Most excitingly, there is a section dedicated to lavender pet care items, and treats are always on hand. Pelindaba Lavender’s essential oils are made with pup in mind (and can help ward off ticks).

The Wishing Stone

At the Wishing Stone, find a beautiful mineral keepsake that reminds you of your trip to Edmonds. You’ll find sterling silver and gemstone jewelry, healing stones, rocks that look like tennis balls, and more. The friendly staff even have treats for floofs, so take your time bow-wowsing.

After being a v good boy in shops and on patios, pup’ll be ready to run off some energy.

Edmonds Marina Beach Off-Leash Dog Park

Dogs know one thing for sure: when given the option, you always choose the beach. Always. Edmonds Marina Beach Off-Leash Dog Park is heaven on the Puget for lucky fluffers. With lots of sand and water to frolic in, pups’ll pack in the fun chasing sticks while their humans can explore the sea life that washes ashore. If pup is a non-swimmer, the park also features a large grass area. The dog rinsing station’ll help clean those paws before jumping back in the car, but sand is a small price to pay for a glorious day in the water.

Yost Park

Trees and water and moss, oh my! Looking for a break from the downtown area and a retreat back into nature? Yost Park is a bone-afide slice of zen in the heart of Edmonds. About 1.5 miles of intricate trails converge both through the forested ravine and up the steep hillside, and your four-legged walking partner is sure to enjoy the sight of imposing cedars and sound of trickling water on this leisurely, calming jaunt through Edmond’s little emerald gem.

Edmonds Marsh

Bird watching requires keen eyes, strong ears, and a powerful snoot. Pup must be an expert! Edmonds Marsh is a 22-acre salt and freshwater estuary in the heart of Edmonds. The habitat is home annually to 200+ species of birds for pup to sniff out. Read the informational plaques about each species while an on-leash Sherlock Bones points out the next feathered friend. (Remember, good dog-tectives always leave the birdies be.)
