Today we’re yappin’ about the seasonal shopping experience known as the farmers market, and the only thing that makes this harvest hunt better is having a furry pal by your side while you sniff out the scene, paw-ruse produce at its peak, and pick up other tempting edibles and handmade goods.
Woof to the wise: non-retractable leashes are a must as is a stash of poo bags. Be safe! Bring a supply of water, take time to seek out shade on steamy days, and for the love of dog, do not hit the pavement if the temp is intolerable for pupper paws.

Located in the Victory neighborhood, this market offers dog treats (first things first!) in addition to fresh produce, flowers, soaps, honey, food trucks, and more.
MINNEAPOLIS FARMERS MARKET (Downtown Government Center)| Daily from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This historic market’s a fave for local workers — and local pups and peeps livin’ it up in this fine city. Immunocompromised? Visit early from 6-7 a.m. for safe shopping.
MINNEAPOLIS FARMERS MARKET (Nicollet Mall)| Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through October 31
This downtown farmers market between 6th and 9th St. S. is a working-pawfessional fave. In addition to freshy-fresh produce, it also has cheeses, meats, honeys, salsas, hot sauces, and other noms on paw, in addition to some of the best dang flowers in town. Immunocompromised? Visit from 6-7 a.m. for safe shopping.
TINY DINER FARMERS MARKET | Thursdays from 5-8 p.m., July 9 through August 27
You’ll find local produce, artisan bread, fresh eggs, live music, and more. When your shopping’s done, pop over for a beer on Tiny Diner’s dog-friendly patio.

BROOKLYN PARK FARMERS MARKET | Wednesdays from 2-6 p.m., June 24 through October 7
Produce, breads, jams, crafts, and more are available from the friendly farmers who frequent this north-side nabe.
CENTENNIAL LAKES FARMERS MARKET (Edina) | Thursdays from 3-7 p.m., June 18 through September 24
Centennial Lakes Park is a gorgeous urban retreat, made even more lush on the eves when 30 vendors set up along its walkways. Fruits and veggies, sure — but also meat, honey, jams, confections, and more. Some vendors even put out fresh water for the four-leggeds. Masks encouraged.
CHISAGO CITY FARMERS MARKET | Fridays from 2-6 p.m., July through September
Pupping up Duluth or the North Shore for the weekend? Stop fur a variety of fresh products from local growers and artisans. You’ll also be treated to live music, cooking demos, and activities for two-legged kids in tow.
EAGAN MARKET FEST | Wednesdays from 4-8 p.m., June 3 through August 26
In addition to more than 55 market vendors, this sunny South Metro festival hosts theme nights and live concerts where you can embarrass your pup by partaking in a dance party when you’re done with your shopping. Note: Only one human shopper per household this season, please.
NEW BRIGHTON FARMERS MARKET | Wednesdays from 3 to 7 p.m., June through October

SWD insiders have long known that Stillwater’s a happenin’ spot for dog lovers; now you and the pup can add the city’s farmers market to your summer bark-et list. Pro tip: The Sunshine Barkery sells homemade dog treats that your pup can try before you buy.
