2018 Guide to Dog-Friendly Farmers Markets in MN

Today we’re yappin’ about the seasonal shopping experience known as the farmers market, and the only thing that makes this harvest hunt better is having a furry pal by your side while you sniff out the scene, paw-ruse produce at its peak, and pick up other tempting edibles and handmade goods.

Woof to the wise: non-retractable leashes are a must as is a stash of poo bags. Be safe! Bring a supply of water, take time to seek out shade on steamy days, and for the love of dog, do not hit the pavement if the temp is intolerable for pupper paws.

Without further a-doo, here are the Twin Cities’ dog-friendly farmers markets where you can support the local lot with your pup in tow:

MINNEAPOLIS

AUDUBON FARMERS MARKET | Thursdays from 4pm – 7pm
Farmers from around the Twin Cities bring fruit, jam, vegetables, flowers, and more to this farmers market, which is located in the parking lot of the Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church.

CAMDEN FARMERS MARKET | Thursdays from 3pm – 7pm
Located in the Victory neighborhood, this market offers dog treats (first things first!) in addition to fresh produce, flowers, soaps, honey, food trucks, and more.

FOUR SISTERS FARMERS MARKET | Thursdays from 11am – 1pm
This smaller market offers fresh produce and other healthy foods. Food trucks and musical guests join in on the fun, too!

LINDEN HILLS FARMERS MARKET | Sundays from 9am – 1pm
If you’re into “produce, proteins, pretty posies + perfect potables,” you and your pup will love this market. They also have doggie water bowls on site, treats for sale and for sampling, and a resident market dog named Jager.

MILL CITY FARMERS MARKET (Saturday Market) | Saturdays from 8am – 1pm
In addition to yummy local fare, you can get in on cooking demonstrations, children’s activities, adult education on seasonal produce, live music, and more. Note: dogs are permitted only in the uncovered Chicago Mall area of this market.

MILL CITY FARMERS MARKET (Tuesday Night Market) | Tuesdays from 4pm – 8pm
Didn’t get your fix on the weekend? Stop by for “can do” cooking and wellness activities, live entertainment, and more!

MINNEAPOLIS FARMERS MARKET (Downtown) | Daily from 6am – 1pm
This historic market is a fave for local workers — and local pups and peeps playing hookie in this fine city. [Note: Its sister site, Lyndale Market, is not dog-friendly.]

NORTHEAST MINNEAPOLIS FARMERS MARKET | Saturdays from 9am – 1pm
This award-winning market has been growing like a weed, and recently added food trucks, booths for local nonprofit orgs, children’s activities, and live music to its traditional lineup.

TINY DINER FARMERS MARKET | Thursdays from 5pm – 8pm starting August 2nd
You’ll find local produce, artisan bread, fresh eggs, live music, and more. When your shopping’s done, pop over for a beer on their dog-friendly patio.

SAINT PAUL

SAINT LUKE’S FARMERS MARKET | Saturdays from 8am – 12pm
This spacious spot welcomes pups to slurp from water dishes while their humans shop produce, honey, beef, baked goods, and more.

THE ‘BURBS (AND BEYOND)

BROOKLYN PARK FARMERS MARKET | Wednesdays from 2pm – 6pm starting July 11th
Produce, breads, jams, crafts, and more are available from the friendly farmers who frequent this north-side nabe.

CENTENNIAL LAKES FARMERS MARKET (Edina) | Thursdays from 3pm – 7pm
Centennial Lakes Park is a gorgeous urban retreat, made even more lush on the eves when three dozen vendors set up along its walkways. Fruits and veggies, sure — but also meat, honey, jams, confections, and more. Some vendors even put out fresh water for the four-leggeds.

CHISAGO CITY FARMERS MARKET | Fridays from 2pm – 6pm
Headed up to Duluth or the North Shore for the weekend? Make a stop to stock up for the weekend on a variety of fresh products from local growers and artisans. You’ll also be treated to live music, cooking demos, and activities for two-legged kids in tow.

EAGAN MARKET FEST | Wednesdays from 4pm – 8pm
In addition to over 55 market vendors, this sunny South Metro festival boasts theme nights and live concerts where you can embarrass your pup by partaking in a dance party when you’re done with your shopping.

HOPKINS FARMERS MARKET | Saturdays from 7:30am – 12pm
Hopkins Farmers Market proudly provides the community with the locally grown produce, meats, poultry, cheeses, artisan products, and handmade goods. This year, Hunt & Gather Pet Treats will also be in attendance, so you and your dog can stock up on some pup-notch treats and toys!

MARKET IN THE VALLEY (Golden Valley) | Sundays from 9am – 1pm
Their motto is “play hard, eat veggies” — count us in. This market offers produce in addition to eggs, honey, crafts, music, and more.

NEW BRIGHTON FARMERS MARKET | Wednesdays from 3pm – 7pm
They’re dog-friendly all season, but don’t miss their annual Dog Days of Summer Event which features a dog-washing booth, no-cost nail clipping, and more.

OAKDALE FARMERS MARKET | Wednesdays from 2pm – 6pm
No market June 20 or July 4. Enjoy fresh flowers, produce, baked goods, and so much more.

PRIOR LAKE FARMERS MARKET | Saturdays from 8am – 12pm
This market has it all: produce, art, coffee, live music, bistro seating, and more. One of its vendors has been known to dispense dog treats, too.

STILLWATER MINNESOTA FARMERS MARKET | Saturdays from 7:30am – 12pm
SWD insiders have long known that Stillwater is a happenin’ spot for dog lovers; now you and the pup can add their farmers market to your summer bark-et list. 

WHITE BEAR LAKE FARMERS MARKET | Fridays from 8am – 12pm
In addition to traditional farm fare, wildflowers and gelato make for a colorful weekday celebration in this northeast ‘burb.
