We’re taking a tour of the fur-loving Twin Cities and highlighting some of our fave paw-approved spots – this time in the dog-friendly East Metro. From dining to romping, we’ve got the scoop on the best places to bring your pup for a tail-wagging good time.
(Read up on the pup-loving North, South, and West Metros, too.)
So let’s dig in:
Eats
If you love to dine with your pupper, great news – the East Metro has lots of four-paw restaurant patios to visit with Fido. Sniff out Lakes Tavern & Grill in Woodbury, Nacho Mama’s in Stillwater, and Joe Senser’s in Roseville.
For a more unique setting, head back to the 50’s at The Drive-In Restaurant in Taylors Falls or chow down with river views at Mallards on the St.Croix in Bayport.
Drinks
Thirsty? Pup-loving Stillwater invites paw-parents to enjoy a cold one with their pooch in tow at Lift Bridge Brewing and River Siren Brewing, or sip a glass of wine while overlooking the beautiful St. Croix River at Northern Vineyards Winery.
For a grrr-eat option closer to the cities, Bent Brewstillery offers craft beers and spirits at their super dog-friendly digs in Roseville where pups are welcome inside and on the patio.
Parks
Let your pup burn off some energy and meet new fur-iends at Battle Creek Regional Dog Park in Maplewood and WAG Farms Dog Park in Cottage Grove. Both offer varied terrain, trails, and swimming ponds for a doggone good time. There’s also the Woodbury Dog Park, Stillwater Dog Park, and Woodview Open Space in Roseville.
Shops
There are dog-friendly shops galore in the East Metro. Like Patina and Primp Boutique in Woodbury, Darn Knit Anyway and Alfresco Casual Living in Stillwater, and Half Price Books in Roseville.
Planning a pawty? Bring your pooch along to pick up the (human) refreshments. Dennis Brothers Liquor in Cottage Grove, Elevated Beer Wine & Spirits in White Bear Lake, and Mahtomedi Liquor Barrel all welcome your four-legged BFF inside.
Markets and Orchards
For a fun summer weekend stop with Fido, check out the Oakdale and Stillwater Farmers Markets. And in the fall, bring your doggo to Stillwater’s pup-ular Aamodt’s Apple Farm for apple picking and activities the whole family can enjoy.
There’s plenty more where that came from, so be sure to check out the full directory for more dog-friendly spots in your area, and see our highlights from the North, South, and West Metros.
Let us know if you’ve got a favorite we missed so we can add them to our directory!
Next up: Share all of your pup’s adventures with #SidewalkDog for the chance to be featured. Then head to our Dog-Friendly Twin Cities online community for super local, pooch-centric chat with the some of the best people we know – dog people.
And since you clearly love being out and about with your doggo, you NEED our Dog-Friendly Passes! These puppies score ya FREE beer or wine on local patios and inside taprooms. Get your paws on ‘em today. (They make grrr-eat gifts, too!)
