The wag-worthy trails at nearby Lake Calhoun.

Agros: “One photo, then let’s get on this Greenway already!”

As shared by a resident, the lowdown on this Uptown location: “The Greenway is a treasure to both me and my dog, Agros. We run on it every day, and we usually stop in at the nearby Lake of the Isles dog park so he can sniff and socialize, too.” — Justin W., Elan resident

Onsite Perks
Elan’s biggest pup-friendly amenity is the direct access to the furbulous Midtown Greenway for hiking and biking, and close proximity to city lakes and parks. Wanna stay on the property but still let ’em stretch their furry legs? The “Bark Park,” aka dog run, is right outside, and there’s even a perk within the perk: an inoperative — but obviously useful — fire hydrant. With all-natural treats in the front office, and convenient pet wash stations in each building’s garage, the Elan staff knows how to keep dogs waggin’ and hoomans happy. And new this summer, residents and pups will also enjoy onsite yappy hours complete with doggie beer.

Keeping it clean with a handy pet wash station in every building.

Getting Physical
With private access to the Midtown Greenway, pups can walk and run as far as their hoomans will let them. When water is your preferred backdrop, take a leisurely stroll around nearby Lake Calhoun. (On days when human swimmers are scarce, let Fido scratch his itch with a roll on one of the sandy beaches along the way.) Ready to shed the leashes and sniff out another kind of social scene? Lake of the Isles Off-Leash Area is just a couple of blocks away.

Yappy Hours and Doggie Dates
Start your morning — or weekend — with an outta-this-world cinnamon roll (or two) at Isles Bun & Coffee. (We won’t tell if you pass a piece to the pup at your feet.) For an al fresco lunch, dinner, or that magically flexible time known as happy hour, the peeps at Bryant-Lake Bowl love pups, as does the crew at The Lowry. And if it’s a cool local brew you’re craving, you’re conveniently situated between Steel Toe Brewery in St. Louis Park and The Herkimer Pub & Brewery, located just a few blocks east at LynLake.
