Your Dog-Friendly Denver Weekend: November 5-6, 2022

There’s something about fall that makes us want to get out and squeeze every last drop from every day. With another nice weekend on tap, we found several ways for you and pup to do just that. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a night of drinks, or some re-tail therapy, we’ve got your dog-friendly Denver list.

1. Fresh Air + Fresh Brew

Wash Perk, Denver 
Open 6:30 a.m.–5 p.m. daily 

Mornings are ruff without caffeine. Roll outta bed and into your daytime pajamas for a trip to Wash Perk, a cute little coffee shop with a dog-friendly patio. Order from the walk-up window—try the honey cinnamon latte and make pup drool with envy—then head to Washington Park’s lakeside paths for a glorious sniffing session for pooch.

2. Five Alarm 5k & Chili Cook-Off

Resolute Tap & Cellar, Arvada
Saturday, November 5, 10 a.m.; Registration required

Whether your motivation comes from the exercise, the free beer, or finding the best chili in town, this fun-run is sure to keep you warm this weekend. Come for the race, stay for the beer and chili from up to 30 Chili Cook-Off participants. Your 5k entry ticket comes with your first beer free plus tasters of the chili, and pup gets to take in all the yummy smells—everyone wins!  

3. Live Music at Bruz Beers

Bruz Off Fax and Bruz Beers Midtown, Denver
Saturday, November 6, 6–8 p.m. @ both Bruz locations

Shake your paw paws this weekend as both Bruz Beers locations host free live music. Matt Flaherty is playing at Bruz Beers Midtown, while J.K. Halvorson plays at Bruz Off Fax. Try their new release, Biere de Gourd, a Belgian-Style Biere de Garde with pumpkin and spices and an aroma reminiscent of freshly baked pumpkin pie. Pair it with food truck noms—The Funky Pita will be at Bruz Midtown and Pizza & Plants Company at Bruz Off Fax.

4. Denver Maker’s Market

6677 W Colfax, Lakewood
Sunday, November 6, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

Here’s a scary thought—there are only 7 Sundays before Christmas. Woof! Don’t leave your shopping til the last minute when you can casually slide into gifting season with floof by your side at the Denver Maker’s Market. Browse creations from local artisans, crafters, and vendors. Sign up to attend (free!) and be eligible for a grand prize giveaway featuring items from the makers. Get there early—the first 50 pre-registered customers get a bag of goodies at check in.

5. Midweek Bonus: Tails and Ales

Number Thirty Eight, Denver
Wednesday, November 9, 5–9 p.m.; Tickets required

A dog party on Denver’s largest outdoor patio with drinks, a bone bar, and mutts more—yes, pawlease! Each general admission ticket includes two free drinks (beer, wine, or liquor), entry into the private event, a meet and greet with adoptable dogs, silent auction, and more. Eat, drink, and be generous cuz all proceeds from the fundraising activities benefit Soul Dog Rescue.

Life’s Better With a Pup

Foothills Animal Shelter

  • Spend an evening at Foothills Animal Shelter in Golden with wine and whiskey tasting, live musical entertainment, silent auction and door prizes, and the chance to swoon over some incredibly adorable adoptable animals. This 21+ fundraising event is for humans only, so if you already have a furry friend they’ll have to sit this one out. All the fun happens Thursday, November 3 from 6–9 p.m. Get your tickets here.
