Wilde Cafe & Spirits

Wilde Cafe & Spirits

The Wilde Cafe is a neighborhood restaurant with an updated Victorian feel, but it’s not your typical cafe. The cafe is named after Oscar Wilde, the popular 19th Century playwright. Wilde lived much of his life in England, although he was Irish. He was a man with eccentric tastes that were ahead of his time; he favored velvet breeches and peacock feathers. Wilde enjoyed poking fun at the Victorian society in his two most famous plays: An Ideal Husband and The Importance of Being Earnest, both written in 1893. He died in 1900 from what he called “the love that dare not speak its name.” They’ve tried to create an atmosphere that would suit Wilde’s tastes. A comfortable place you can come alone or with friends to enjoy a latte or glass of wine by our 1900’s fireplace on a Chesterfield couch. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus featuring an array of sandwiches, individual-sized pizzas, appetizers and other great comfort food. A big dessert menu for the evening crowd leaving the theater or going out for the night. Where else in Minneapolis offers this? Plus you can bring your pooch along to enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of bustling Main St Minneapolis.
