Beloved Woodbury Doggo Shop Opens in Arden Hills

Pet Evolution: One-Stop Doggo Shop

Like Target for dogs, Pet Evolution is a true one-stop shop fur keeping Fido healthy, happy, and entertained. Top-notch pet food, gear, and toys? Check. Self-serve dog wash and full-service grooming? Check. Doggy play dates? Yep. (You read that right.) Dog adoption events? Of course! And unlike Target, the staff will get to know your pup by name, scritch of choice (ears? rump?), food preference, and more. They even have an offer just for Sidewalk Doggers. Sniff it out at the end of this article.

After watching their childhood dogs suffer through years of undiagnosed food allergies, longtime friends and Pet Evolution owners Rian Thiele and Mike Osborn dreamed of opening a neighborhood pet food store where they could provide their four-legged customers with all the care cherished family members deserve. In 2012 they opened their first location in Woodbury. And in 2018, the pair opened a second location in Arden Hills.

Owners Rian and Mike, alias The Pet Food Gurus, know their furry clientele by name, food preference, and more.

The first thing you’ll notice about Pet Evolution is the care each staff member takes with each furry customer. They get to know your pet and his health needs, and are experts at recommending foods for specific dietary needs. If they don’t have it, they’ll special-order it. (And if you don’t have time to get to the store, you can order online and they’ll deliver it to your door.)

Pup would rather get a shot than get groomed? Grooming happens in a calm, safe environment, and many pet parents ask for groomers by name. (“Brittany does an excellent job on our Hunter boy,” raves Facebook reviewer Douglas R.) Prefer to wash your own woofer? Walk-in baths on raised platforms make it a breeze.

At Pet Evolution, we’re committed to providing family pets only the most healthy products, along with self-serve dog washes and grooming services to help them live long, healthy, and happy lives,” says CEO Rian Thiele. “In a nutshell, we’re a small, local business dedicated to helping pets live the good life.”

It’s all part of the owners’ simple philosophy: that the health of our pets is just as important as the health of any other family member.

But Don’t Take Our Woof For It

The reviews are in: Mary M. says, “Rian, Mike, and the gang really know their stuff and they treat you like family. They were so kind to me after my Fonzie died and welcomed my new girls with opened arms. They always make a fuss over them when we walk in, and they love it. That is how they treat everyone! Their grooming is top notch (we see [groomer] Brittany!!) Pet Evolution does so much for Woodbury, rescues, and the community. It would not be the same without them.”

Another reviewer, Jessica J., says, “Our older dog was refusing to eat the food he’s had for a very long time even after having a visit with our vet. We contacted Pet Evolution and they actually sent out samples for him to try … and he loved what they suggested. We called them and let them know that he was actually eating again…and they delivered to our doorstep a full bag of the food we had sampled earlier. These guys know what they are doing when it comes to providing what our pets need. I would suggest them over and over and over again! Best customer service and knowledge!!! Over the top!”
