7 Things To Do With Your Dog in Lincoln Park

Wiggly Field

Surprisingly spacious and with fairly easy street parking, Wiggly Field is a favorite for Lincoln Park pups. In addition to providing ample room for your dog to prance around doing cute things, the park also often features tennis balls that have been left behind as a special surprise just for your dog (he’s sure of it). It also is obviously the indisputable reigning champion of adorable dog park puns. One reviewer declares that it’s “fantastic” with “good dogs everywhere.” Really, what else do you need?

LUSH Cosmetics

In addition to smelling fantastic at all times, Lush employees seem to have one other universal common quality: they love dogs. When a dog comes in, everyone in the store seems to stop what they’re doing to give your dog the hero’s welcome. You’ll enjoy perusing fresh, organic skin and hair care, and (ever the progressive) your dog will appreciate the company’s cruelty-free mission.

CityGrounds Coffee Bar

Slow down and take a break with your pup on the intimate cobblestone courtyard at CityGrounds (when was the last time you guys made time to just sit down and talk?). You may even get lucky and nab a spot by the firepit to enjoy a tasty cup of Metropolis coffee. It’s just a hop, sniff, and a jump from Oz Park, so it’s a perfect place for your dog to chill out after valiantly defending you from that very threatening scarecrow statue.

Gemini

Situated at the midway point between Oz Park and Lincoln Park, freshly updated Gemini offers a cozy dog-friendly outdoor space. Their brunch offerings include sticky cinnamon buns, sweet strawberries and cream waffles, and highly shareable truffle fries (your dog wanted you to know that). It’s the perfect place to make your Sunday walk ritual just a little more special.

Sapori Trattoria

For a special occasion (or to finally woo that cute dog owner you always try to casually coordinate your dog park visits with), the outdoor dining space at upscale Italian favorite Sapori Trattoria will not disappoint. Dive into a robust Risotto ai Fungi, packed with luscious Italian porcini mushrooms, garlic, herbs, and parmesan, or try the Bucatini Carbonara and see what all the buzz is about. They’ll even customize a menu on your dog’s special day.

River Shannon

*Very* dog-friendly River Shannon welcomes your dog inside but kindly asks that your dog please be careful not to overindulge in what reviewers assert is “The Best Guinness in the City” (admittedly, we are unsure of how this is determined). There’s free popcorn, a giant game of Jenga, and lots of pups to meet and mingle with. However, the patrons here love petting dogs, so don’t expect yours will pay too much attention to you.

Ranalli’s

Humans and dogs both love Ranalli’s for delicious pizza and great service on their patio. No, for real–we are talking top notch service here. One reviewer tells an epic tale of a time that the host stand was out of treats and offered her dog her very own burger or chicken breast. A manager’s reply indicated that the servers were having separation anxiety and could not wait for the dog to return. Stop in, and let this kind staff give your pup the service always knew she deserved.
