We think it’s fair to say that most of us live by the mantra, “If I can’t bring my dog, I’m not going”—especially on the weekends, which are meant for sleeping in, boozy brunches, and hanging with our favorite peeps (our pups, obvs). Thankfully, these 6 Denver restos realize that dog-friendliness is good for business, so you don’t have to choose between greasy noms and floof snuggles (both have been proven to cure hangovers, btw). Visit these 6 spots for Denver dog-friendly brunch.
1. Lazy Dog
Lazy Dog is a fitting name, since that’s exactly how you should feel on the weekends. While you try to furget last night’s bad decisions with the Hangover Burrito and a Hair of the Dog Bloody Mary (hey, we’re not judging!), Fido gets to indulge in his own special menu of hamburger, chicken, and rice.
2. Tupelo Honey
Git down to Tupelo Honey faster than a dog with a case of the zoomies for the Southern brunch of your dreams. Shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes, sweet tea, roasted chicken…this place has got all the classics that would make Pawla Deen (see what we did there?) proud. The best part is you don’t even have to sneak your pup some of your eggs, cuz they come scrambled on the dog menu, which also includes biscuits, ground beef, and rice.
3. The Pig & The Sprout
Dogs aren’t the only ones who have to follow some rules at The Pig & The Sprout. While four-legged patrons are asked to stay on the patio, humans are cheekily warned, “If you order a Long Island iced tea, your fake ID better be perfect,” and “No naked dining or drinking” (darn it!). Our suggestion for a pawfect day at this meat lover-meets-vegan eatery? Come for drool-worthy brunch items like Chicken & Waffle Croque Madame and Green Chili Breakfast Poutine. Then work off those calories at nearby Railyard Off-Leash Dog Park.
4. Cozy Cottage
Sometimes classic bacon and eggs is all you need. You can find that at the Cozy Cottage, along with some signature dishes like Bananas Foster French Toast and the Tennyson Hash (named for the street it’s on). The garden-like, fenced-in patio makes it easy for you to keep an eye on your pooch. Not to mention, it’s a quick hop, skip, and jump to Berkeley Dog Park.
5. Postino
If you only know Postino as a wine cafe, you’d be missing out on some damn scrumptious brunch foods. Featuring three Denver locations, they serve brunch and $5 mimosas on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you’re in the mood to embarrass your pooch with your bad Italian, order some fancy breakfast, like smoked salmon carpaccio and cantaloupe & stracciatella. But if you don’t wanna get the OMG mom eyes, you can always stick to a classic French toast or avocado toast.
6. Denver Biscuit Co.
If you say brunch in the Mile High, chances are you’re gonna hear about our beloved Denver Biscuit Company. With four locations in metro Denver, this popular spot tends to be hoppin’, so easily overstimulated pups might prefer takeout at the park. Their delectable biscuit sandwiches smothered with yummy toppings will make pup drool and wag his tail, so be sure to bring treatos for your very good boy.
