Dogs in their natural element are a thing of beauty: Be it embracing a sunny spot on the couch, enthusiastically hitting the hunting trail with their human BFF, or any other activity that lets their innate talent shine. So when Pheasants Forever asked us to spread the woof about their upcoming Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic sports show — open to the public and taking place right here in Minneapolis this year — we wagged with glee.

The weekend is jam-packed with festivities. A few highlights: a bird-dog parade, canine training seminars led by experts in the field, adoptable dogs from several local rescues, and tons of vendors who can’t wait to outfit your pup in the latest and greatest gear (make sure to say hello to our friends at Stunt Puppy, who will be selling some of the most gorgeous collars and leashes in all the land).

WHAT: Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic, a weekend-long celebration of dog training, pheasant and quail hunting, wildlife conservation, habitat improvement, and more.

WHO: Anyone who loves bird dogs — even if you’re not a hunter, the bird-dog parade will be a sight to behold! (Please leave your own pups at home for this one.)

WHEN: Fri. 2/17 through Sun. 2/19 (times vary)

WHERE: Minneapolis Convention Center
TICKETS: Daily admission trade-show tickets are $10 each (buy one get one free for a limited time, then $10 each at the door). Banquet tickets (Friday and Saturday evenings — we’re talkin’ live entertainment, raffles, games, prizes, and more) range from $70-95. An all-access weekend pass is $210 and includes admission to all three days of the trade show, banquets on Friday and Saturday evening, and a conservation lunch on Saturday. Banquet tickets are available online while supplies last and admission tickets are available online or at the door.

Bird-dog lovers, get your outdoor-loving tails to Minneapolis for Pheasant Fest. We can’t wait to hear about the fun you’ll sniff out.
