White Bear Lake Dog Beach (Matoska Park)
4858 Lake Ave
White Bear Lake, MN 55110
**SUPER DUPER IMPORTANT: Due to resident complaints, dogs on this beach are in a trial period. If you visit this park you MUST adhere to new rules: This is a one season pilot which could end in the closing down of the dog park if folks do not comply. Dogs are now required to be on a leash at all times (up to 30 feet) and have visible dog tags. Please keep dogs on leash, clean up after your dog, and minimize barking that disturbs the neighbors. Thank you for doing your part to keep this beach open, SWDers!**
Dogs may swim in a small, separate part of the beach, as long as they do not cross into the public area. The property is about 100 feet wide and is not fenced, so reliable voice control is important! Complete with a sandy beach and shallow water perfect for fetching, it's a great spot for a cool down on a hot day.

IMPT CHANGE. The White Bear Lake City Council voted last night to make a change to this park. Dogs are now required to be on a leash at all times (up to 30 feet) and have visible dog tags. This is a one season pilot which could end in the closing down of the dog park if folks do not comply. Please keep dogs on leash, clean up after your dog and minimize barking that disturbs the neighbors.

While this is THE best spot for swimming your dog, please be aware that it is under discussion to make it perhaps, less convenient for those not from the White Bear area. With that in mind, please control your dogs, clean up after them, and anything else you can do to keep it open. Thank you!!!

We stopped by Matoska Beach while taking our dog for a walk. It's a fun experience for the dogs, who were all obviously having a great time. There is a major problem with owners not controlling their dogs. Most dogs were off lead and out of control while on the beach. I was run into full force by a medium size terrier; my knee hyper extended and I am going to the Dr later today. No concern on the part of the owners, who I assume were oblivious. Not the dogs fault. Major stupid human problem at this beach.

Great beach for your pups! The lake is sandy and weed free. The only issue was getting to the water. It's very muddy and you have to walk over wooden planks. There are also boats tied up at the shore. But once you are in the water, it's very clean and plenty of room for many doggies.
