Finnick and I LOVE this off-leash area. It is completely, 100%, unfenced. The good news about it being an entirely unfenced area is that people with dogs that do not have fabulous recall do not go to this park. It means more room and a more enjoyable time for those of us with well trained dogs. We have not ever used the leashed trails, but those are also an option I guess. There is a river and also usually mud somewhere, so bring a towel.

Love this park! Nice large open play area and beyond that really nice trails for walking through woods, along the river and for exploring off the trail. Two thumbs up! My dog loves it too!

LOVE this park! Plenty of room to roam, beautiful wooded trails, open grassy areas, sand for digging, fallen trees to climb on and search for squirrels, and other dogs to play with. The Crow River is wonderful for swimming, since it doesn't get stagnant and mucky like the ponds and lakes. My dog absolutely loves it here, and I love that I can get a nice walk/jog in the woods without having to worry about having my dog off leash. It's not as scenic as Minnehaha, but it's very beautiful in it's own way and much larger and cleaner. It is also a lot less crowded. It's not fenced and there is a somewhat busy road nearby so it may not be a good choice for dogs who don't have a solid recall. It can be a schlep but what dog doesn't love a nice drive in the country?
